This tour will transport you to an eclectic and culturally significant range of heritage sites that date back to ancient times and it will also take you to unique places of natural beauty. The impacts of tourism have been acutely felt in recent times and we fully endorse the need to help manage and protect this incredible region. Thus, it is therefore exceptionally important that we fully understand and appreciate the importance of developing tours that are sustainable and reduce the impacts of tourism on the human and natural environment wherever possible. Indeed, all of our tours maintain a great respect for the cultural and natural surroundings in which we visit and travel, and we have opted to use only essential methods of public or private transport for this itinerary. This itinerary is acutely aware of the need to protect the Potala Palace and many magnificent monasteries in Tibet both for current and future generations to fully experience. We will have a set of guidelines about this point and will remind our clients before tour departure.

Activity:
This tour is designed for the travelers who donot have enough time for exploring Tibet but are keen on the Tibetan culture and scenery. It includes all the important places of interest in central Tibet (like the Potala Palace, Drepung Monastery and Jokhang Temple ) and west Tibet in Gyangtse and Shigatse. In your free time, we recommend tourists to tour the old Lhasa city on foot or by bicycle and other public transportation like city bus to minimize the carbon foot print. 

Flora and fauna:
Our local guides will have a set of guidelines for each tour. The flora and fauna (flowers and animals) are in abundance and wide variety in remote villages along this tour. And the weak ecological environments are complex and multiplicity, and they are damageable. we advocate ecological tourism. Footpaths crisscrossed the fields, where the crowing of cocks and the barking of dogs were heard within distance, of course we stick to footpaths. The growing number of visitors is damaging the footpaths. It is necessary to mention this on tour briefing to our clients.

Transport :
We try to seldom use vehicle except necessary on the tour. We actively encourage all customers to take public transport, or rent a bike, or just walk around the small and special Tibet old town in free time. So we could ensure that our transport is as low carbon as possible.

Office:
It is advocated to recycle paper and ink cartridges to reduce the waste in landfill sites. We turn off printers, computers, battery chargers and transformers at the end of each day and use energy-efficient bulbs and low-energy appliances.

People

We are also exceptionally aware of the need to use local ‘green’ tourism services and businesses to ensure that the natural and social environments that host tourism are protected and well-managed in Tibet. This includes the use of locally-sourced produce such as food and crafts, for example. However, perhaps one of the greatest reasons for using locally-owned accommodation is that you will see the ‘real’ Tibet in its various guises. You will sample traditional villages, customs, cuisines and ways of life that can be significantly different to anything you may have experienced before. We will also take you to incredible places away from the tourist crowds to ensure that your experiences are genuinely unique. We fully believe that this is a wonderful way to learn about this spectacular country and have no doubt that you will agree!

A fair wages to local guides and drives:
We use all local guides and drivers so that we learn about the culture and way of life directly from those who live it and put money into local hands and economies. All receive fair wages and are provided with training opportunities both direct from us and from the local tourism bureau. Our guides are also responsible for advising travelers of the appropriate recycling options available in each place.

We will pay admission fee to enter all the heritage sites mentioned in the itinerary, so this income contributes to the upkeep and preservation of the site.

Accommodation and Meals:
This trip provides income for a variety of local business, such as the hotel and restaurants we will choose to. We employ more local people and use more local services, and we provide them with salary, travel rewards and opportunities for in-service training. Most of hotels we use are owned by local residents, with local style decoration. This benefits local Tibetan economies and contributes to a better social environment in the areas where our customers visit in the tour. In this tour, most of nights we will stay in Lhasa, and we choose the hotel with good awareness of environmental protection. For example, they will not changes beds if we overstay 2 or 3 nights. They encouraged the clients do not to turn their room air-conditions under 26 degrees. The night porter from the hotel will turn all lights and lamps off in public areas once the guests have gone bed and then turns them back on at 7am. Housekeeping turn lights and TV`s off in rooms once they are serviced.

Traveling with respect
We realize the mutual understanding is the first step to maintain harmony. There is no good culture and bad culture but just different culture exist in our world. In our products, we try to provide more opportunities for tourists to go inside local communities and try to explain both tourists and local communities their different behaviors, thinking and altitudes from both sides and especially explain the cultural reasons behind.
