Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

CARBON REDUCTION
We recognize the significant impact of tourism on the environment, from CO2 emissions and deforestation to animal welfare, reef destruction, and soil erosion, and we are determined to make a positive difference in the world.

South Korea is a peninsula where at times the only means of departure is by air, which is why this tour incorporates a flight to Jeju Island. However, it's crucial to highlight that this 10-day journey covers the country from the southern to the northern regions, flying back to mainland Busan to take shared transportation and continue the journey by road towards the north making our way back to Seoul in the end.
Additional to the shared transportation the group will be taking during the trip, walking constitutes a significant aspect of exploring the destinations. This reduces CO2 emissions per person.

The Korean cuisine consistently offers a menu accommodating for vegetarians.

ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
The included entrance fees contribute to the preservation of Seoraksan National Park, which is home to numerous rare species. UNESCO designated this national park a Biosphere Preservation District in 1982.

South Korea employs an efficient recycling system that effectively reduces waste and optimizes resource utilization. This encompasses practices such as reusing, repairing, refurbishing, and recycling materials and products. Simultaneously, waste is regarded as a valuable resource, leading to the minimization of waste volume. We educate our travelers about these practices to encourage their implementation during their trip.

The accommodations you stay at during this trip are committed to following CSR guidelines and strive to be environmentally conscious businesses. They're putting efforts into lessening their environmental footprint by being mindful of their energy consumption in day-to-day operations, which helps cut down on CO2 emissions. Likewise, they're focused on minimizing hotel waste, covering areas like food waste and disposable items, while also boosting recycling and composting efforts.

LOCAL ECONOMY
The accommodations you stay at during this trip, work closely with the community, and make social contributions to the region. You'll be lodging at a couple of places that are Korean-owned.

As you journey, you'll get the chance to check out local shops in various cities and villages, which helps support the local economy.

Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to explore local villages that offer a deep immersion into the captivating culture. Destinations like The Seongeup Folk Village and Andong Hahoe will be part of your journey, accompanied by local residents who give the place life and the sensation of a working community. It's worth noting that while residents are accustomed to visitors, it's essential to respect their privacy.

EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
The majority of our staff, including guides, are local individuals from the country who can provide insights into Korean culture.
We also ensure that our staff receive at least the minimum wage and are covered by employment insurance.

We are dedicated to creating a friendly and inclusive atmosphere for customers, employees, destination communities, and local operators. This includes implementing a strict zero-tolerance policy for any form of racial, ethnic, religious, or gender-based discrimination in all their activities or operations.
