I loved seeing the seal colony in Kleinsbaai and all of the Shamwari experience... 10/10. A totally wonderful experience expertly put together by the tour company. Read full reviewResponsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
On this tour, you will be visiting multiple national parks and areas of natural beauty.Although tourism has developed in each of them, it has done so in a manner that is respectful to both the species living there, as well as the ecosystems themselves. All of the properties (and sometimes even the guides themselves) featured in this tour have been hand-selected by our team, on account of their commitment to conservation and education. This includes (but is by no means limited to): ensuring that guests discover wildlife from a respectful distance; educating visitors to conduct themselves in a way that does not cause the wildlife any distress; staying at properties which seek to have a light impact on the world around them (for instance, through renewable energy sources, the use of recycled or responsibly-sourced materials in their construction); and exploring the parks via designated roads, thus protecting the flora and fauna of the region.
Our offices in the UK and in Bangkok take a leading role in setting the standard for an environmentally friendly work environment. Alongside ensuring that our waste is appropriately recycled, we have instituted a paperless work system, in which paper usage is kept to a bare minimum. We have also implemented a plastic ban in our offices, starting with coffee cups and single-use plastic drinks bottles, and expanding to encompass food packaging as far as possible. Each office has a designated ‘sustainability officer’, who helps to implement programmes and answer questions, whilst all team members are able to set the environmental agenda by highlighting their ideas on a specific sustainability channel in our internal communications network.

Whilst we are always trying to ensure our guests experience the best properties and destinations possible, our ethos about responsible travel is extremely important to us.We have selected the properties on this itinerary with sustainable and responsible tourism in mind. In Cape Town you will enjoy the region's food and wine whilst supporting local suppliers and traders. The hotels also make a huge effort to train and employ local staff. In the Kruger we work with selected camps and lodges who make a concerted effort to recruit their staff from within the local community, providing jobs and sharing the benefits of tourism.
As a company we are founded in the roots of providing responsible and sustainable vacations. This means we seek to partner with local suppliers who provide fair wages, to use accommodation where community and environment are considered and.. in short.. to look at every opportunity for making our vacations as fair to local people and places as possible.
