In case your children like to meet and interact with Cuban children of their age we can make a special request to our homestay families at each location. Some families have done this already. We recommend the children then already to start learning some Spanish. When your family likes to swim you can always visit the swimming pools of the hotels with the children for a small entrance fee, eg at hotel Sevilla in Havana, hotel Jasmines - Ermita in Vinales, hotel Soroa - la Moka at Soroa and las Terrazas and at Trinidad you can go to a wild part of the beach Ancon with palm thatched huts for the sunshade with coral gardens nearby for snorkeling or visit an all-inclusive resort for a day.

When you visit farmers during your excursion, we ask participants, if appropriate, to donate luxury articles like ballpoints, soap and shampoo, buy some coffee and/or leave a donation. When you make use of local accommodation in the form of casas particulares, you directly support that family and make sure that the income gets ploughed back into Cuban society. Visits to Cuban schools with local guides can be added in the itinery and donations can be left as well. In East Cuba you can collect clothes, shoes, medicaments and toiletries to donate to a Cuban organization which supports people from the countryside with no resources. You can also leave clothes, mountain shoes, toiletries or other articles directly with your local guides after the excursion.
