Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Protecting and preserving the beautiful destinations and natural beauty we visit is one of our highest priorities. As well as promoting and practicing sustainable travel, we conduct regular eco-audits on all our trips and suppliers to ensure we’re consistently minimising our impact on the natural environment. To help reduce single use plastics and promote reusable alternatives, we’ve installed refillable water stations at nearly all of our overnight stops, and at many of our activity locations. We advise all our travelers to bring a reusable water bottle when they travel, but for those that don’t we also offer our own branded bottles on all our trips.
We've partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects to help protect, preserve and rebuild the natural world. From February 1st 2020 we'll be planting 10 trees for every INTRO Travel booking made! By hiring local villagers to plant trees in Nepal, Haiti, Indonesia & more, Eden Reforestation Projects are helping replant forests, restore animal habitats and reduce poverty and INTRO Travel are proud to support them with your help.
Within New Zealand we've included as many zero or low carbon activities and means of transport as possible. We only use local suppliers that have proven environmental track records, and zero waste policies. Hiking NZ's stunning scenery is one of the most amazing and rewarding things you can do, and provides our groups with an exciting, zero carbon experience.

The fascinating Maori culture is an important part of any New Zealand experience and we infuse traditional Maori experiences that directly benefit the local community throughout our itinerary. Including spending time with a Maori tribe and sharing a traditional 'Hangi' meal with them. Our guides, transport providers and local team are provided with extensive training, support and benefits that go beyond just fair remuneration. They have the opportunity to not only show off their local area, but develop their guiding skills through our comprehensive training program. They also are given the opportunity to move to other destinations and expand their knowledge and skill set.
All groups are given extensive cultural tips and education along the way so they are sensitive too and can have meaningful and beneficial exchanges with the local community at all our stops. We do this in fun, playful way and reward group members that take the time to learn about the local culture we experience.
