1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

It’s hard to choose just one!
We had a fabulous time in all the places we visited.
Palenque was just incredible.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

To relax and go with the flow!
Take plenty of water on the bus journeys.
Don’t feel intimidated by the hawkers, they leave you alone if you’re polite but stern.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, especially if you tip the lowest paid manual workers.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Arrangements were brilliantly organised ( bus trips etc). Hotels fabulous. Thank you Emma!
Only disappointment was Air Europa airline. We would not recommend them at all to future travelers.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Day of the Day Parade in Mexico City & Cenotes trip & Palenque ruins.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

1. The bus journeys are way longer than expected. So be prepared or think about booking domestic flight, instead.

2. Don’t book your entrance tickets to Chichen Itza online because you pay double the amount you pay at the window.

3. The check in baggage fees at the airport is one and a half times more than if you CAN pay online in advance !!

4. Mexicans cannot speak even basic
English so use google translate and learn a few useful Spanish words before you go.

5. Most of the eating places & hotels have
wifi.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Since we bought stuffs from local people & used their services, kind of helped them. Also made sure to tip local people, when needed.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Planet

To help contribute to the conservation of the regions you visit, you will occasionally pay entrance fees locally. For example, at Chichen Itza you'll pay a fee of around £7 which goes directly to the conservation of this historic sight.

As well as this we also try to only use small-scale and locally owned accommodation which not only gives customers an authentic experience but makes sure that the revenue from this tourism goes to local families and communities who are the ones who need it the most. We also try to use hotels that can offer both vegan and Vegetarian diet- such as our hotel in Playa Del Carmen

Before departing on this trip, our customers will always receive an informative document called 'Be a responsible traveler', which provides useful advice on how they are able to travel in an environmentally-friendly way such as using reusable water bottles and limiting the amount of energy that they use.

The guides are all local and have an in-depth knowledge of the areas they work with, making sure it is respected by staff and visitors alike during excursions.

Our responsible travel journey starts in our office in Brighton where we provide our staff with a healthy lunch every day, we also collect our food waste for compost so that it doesn’t end up in the land fill. We also try recycle as much as we possibly can and are nearly a paperless company. The paper that we do use in our office comes from the same company we recycled it with resulting in a closed loop system.

People

Our local partner is accredited and provides an honest, local experience; promoting cultural and environmental immersion through close links with neighbourhood suppliers. Like us, they consider it their duty to promote sustainability through education and preservation of cultural and natural resources in their destinations.

Throughout your trip we work with local guides and visit local craft shops which benefit the local communities. Our excursions are with smaller companies and not the mass mainstream ones in places as Cancun. We can book a trip to Cobá one of the oldest mayan cities which is untouched.

Throughout this itinerary we use buses for all transfers. Traveling in this way significantly reduces co2 emissions and also allows you to see more of the country. Not only this, but it helps to boost local employment and ensure that the communities directly benefit from you traveling there.

At home we strive to support local businesses, charities and the community. We offer all our staff a day out of the office to volunteer at the charity of their choice. We also use a local catering company for fresh, healthy lunches in our Brighton office everyday, and use a local recycling company for all our waste.
