Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
Helping to maintain the locally important sites we visit are all part of the environmental care. A financial contribution is made to the wooden church we visit in Hronsek, which helps with the maintenance. It is similar for the Jewish cemetery in Mikulov where the entrance fee goes directly into the upkeep of the site. The environment is what makes your experience, and maintenance of this will have a long-term positive impact. Our local leaders encourage refilling and reusing bottles with the safe tap drinking water, as well as setting an example of rubbish collection and litter picking in areas where it is needed. Furthermore, where needed your leader will direct you to the nearest recycling bins or collect all recyclable waste to distribute to the right place later on.
As a travel company we are continually looking for ways to improve and are proud to be ‘Responsible in everything we do’. Education is key, and so all staff, Tour Leaders and partnering suppliers are trained in responsible and sustainable tourism. At our Head Office, we continually strive towards a sustainable and planet-friendly working environment, including having solar panels installed and a company commitment to reducing our plastic usage.

People
Experiencing authentic local flavours and cuisine are all part of visiting a new country, and our local leaders help to arrange meals in small, family-owned restaurants which are frequented by locals. This means money is fed into the local community, and you get the real experience. One of the reasons we prefer to use local leaders is so they can give a real insight into the culture and history of the charming countries by sharing their own stories and experiences. In addition to this, we are supporting them financially through employment, as well as other members of the in-country agent.
As a company we have valuable and longstanding partnerships with UK charities Toilet Twinning and Send a Cow, plus many smaller initiatives and projects around the world. We’re members of the UK travel industry body AITO because we believe it’s important to share our knowledge and experience, as well as learn from other operators.
