Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

We work closely with local individuals and companies in Iran regarding best environmental practises to safeguard the preservation of popular natural attractions and to ensure that any tourism we bring to Iran does not result in having a detrimental effect. We work with the policy of ‘Take nothing but memories, leave nothing but footprints’. This means that we do not leave any foreign materials or waste in our trail and we work carefully with travelers to eliminate waste management and to be mindful of the scarce resources such as water.
We stay in our partner company's Martin Abad Desert Eco Lodge. This award-winning lodge has a fully stocked kitchen or organic goods and takes the time to inform our travelers about the human impacts on nature and the importance of community participation. In 2014 Matinabad desert eco-resort and organic farm was introduced as one to the 18 best practices in sustainable ecotourism by UNDESA.
Finally, we are very proud to have partnered with Water-To-Go, specialists in personal and expedition water purification, instantly, and on-demand. Their unique, 350L water bottles incorporate advanced filtration technology to convert even the dirtiest water to drinking water as you fill up.
Being able to produce safe drinking water from sources off the beaten track, of sometimes dubious quality, offers incredible benefits to our adventure travelers and eliminates the need for single-use plastic bottles. We subsidise this product to make it more accessible to you.

Our guides on the Iran Cultural Adventure are local guides and they speak both fluent English and Farsi, the language of the region, so always explain the cultural necessities to our clients throughout their adventure. This includes the way our travelers dress and behave so as not to offend any of the local communities and to travel in an informed and careful manner that is respectful to local customs and culture. This includes the wearing of light headscarves by women in public places and men are discouraged from wearing shorts, especially in places of worship.
All our local guides are paid a fair wage for Iran and all wages are kept within the local communities thereby supporting local people. Throughout our tours, by visiting these hotels and sites additional income is brought into the region, further helping to develop the local area. This includes the high quality and high value cotton and silk Persian traditional carpets. The purchase of which filters down to a great number of people within the community and they are handmade.
In Iran we stay in locally owned guesthouses, in support of the local people and we eat in local restaurants which enables us to spread economic benefits while also promote cultural understanding. We also eat in local restaurants throughout our time on tour again bolstering local businesses and we visit local markets and always encourage our group to buy locally and support the local trade and artistry.
Iranian people are always welcoming and friendly and keen to learn a little about Western ways, and vice versa. This adventure into Iran helps to allow each culture to learn a little about the other which should hopefully encourage a greater understanding between the cultures.
