The Malaysian people were fantastic. Very friendly, helpful and above all happy.

Don’t book The Elizabeth Hotel in Singapore . All the other hotels were brilliant and we would love to go to them again.

Yes we met many local people on our travels and they thrived through tourism .

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Excellent. The hotels, scenery, people, food all made this a memorable trip.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Kuala Lumpur for the sheer variety and contrasts: Petronas tower, KL Tower, KLCC Park, city complexes, mosques, temples, Colonial buildings, Botanical Gardens etc.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Travel light! Especially if visiting the Islands! Perenthian island boat transfer is an experience in itself and manoeuvring large suit cases into a small boat and onto a floating jetty is a feat in itself. Don't try to pack too much into the first day or two: allow time to recuperate from long haul travel.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes. Local guides, local hotels and guest houses, local transfers. We had opportunities to discuss environmental issues with local guides in the rubber and palm oil plantations in Malacca and in the rainforests.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Excellent value for money. Full of variety and action! All local arrangements excellent.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Absolutely ten out of ten, vacation of a lifetime!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The visit to Georgetown, Penang was one of the most memorable. We enjoyed the guided bike ride around the ethnic areas and avoiding the traffic was a challenge! Noordin Mews was a very pleasant place to stay. The visit to the tea plantation and factory was special as was the guided walk in the 'mossy' cloud forest. The canopy walk In Taman Negara was also a challenge but disappointingly no animals were seen, well a couple of leeches and a butterfly.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Pack light clothes for the heat and humidity but some warm wear for the Cameron Highlands. Dress conservatively as Malaysia is a Muslim country.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Local people were employed as a result of tourism and their skills were being utilised and developed. This was particularly evident in Taman Negara.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Very interesting and enjoyable. We saw a lot of contrasting places in Malaysia.

Hi Helen, Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review about your trip to Malaysia. I am so pleased you enjoyed this beautiful country as much as I did - it sounds like you had some wonderful experiences! Noordin Mews in Penang is one of my favourite hotels that I stayed in so I am glad you enjoyed it too. The bike ride is also fantastic and so informative - I love supporting the small local businesses on this too. It is really nice to see and support the local people of the country and that they really care about their jobs! Thanks again for your feedback Helen and we hope to hear from you again soon. Best wishes, Chloe
