1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Many exciting parts. Probably Tyre, Beruit National museum and Mount Lebanon.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Take US dollars small denomination and do not use any cards. Visit the Corniche Beruit. Consider taking a cooking experience in Beruit.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Lebanon is not environmentally friendly plastic and rubbish everywhere. Definitely benefited local people by bringing in money to tourism industry and tourist sites.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Exciting and stimulating felt I understood a bit more about recent Lebanese history. Lovely variety of different styles of hotels. I felt really relaxed in Lebanon.

Thank you for your positive feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your travels in Lebanon. Of course, as widely reported, the country has been going through a tough time economically, so it is good to know that you felt your visit benefitted the local people. That is very much the great thing when traveling with a responsible operator. It’s all about giving something back. But you do raise an issue and a concern which we very much share, and that is about discarded rubbish including plastic. We know that our local team is trying to do what they can in this respect, but as mentioned above, the economic situation has had a huge impact on the country and in particular on public services, such as refuge collection. What we can say is that tourism can only help, and it is important that travelers continue to visit what is one of the Middle East’s most rewarding countries.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Going and seeing the places that I have read about over the years.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Be prepared for power outages, managing your own luggage up and down stairs and at the moment very little in the way of 'goods' to purchase

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

It certainly benefited local people and they were pleased to see tourists visiting the Lebanon again and were very welcoming.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Very good and would suggest anyone who wants to go should go now. I felt safe and never felt threatened at all. Lebanon has had some very bad years recently and at the moment no sight of any up turn, but the people are welcoming and glad to see tourists and every little bit helps.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Meeting the local people - always helpful, kind and generous; the scenery and historical sites were magnificent. Also my traveling companions.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Always book via Responsible Travel

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

We stayed in small, family run hotels; ate at local restaurants (recommended in guide books, Trip Advisor, or by hotel staff).

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Lebanese food - always a treat! Except when you have pretty much the same meal served every evening - and at lunchtime, too on the day we visited the vineyard! There are so many different traditions that I was surprised not to be offered a greater variety. On the last day our cookery course with an Armenian cook introduced different foods and flavours, but the event should have started much earlier as one of our party had no choice but to eat at 9pm (too late for her). As our guide said: "small groups are more manageable and thus guides can be more flexible" (or words to that effect). She shouldn't have had an issue managing the expectations of a group of seaoned travelers - but we weren't always told what was going to happen/offered any choices.
