1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
It was amazing to visit Bosnia - such an underrated tourist destination and so beautiful in the mountains. The people we met were lovely. Montenegro is like a paradise along the coast.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Prepare to battle your way through the company's admin. They are either out of office, don't answer your question, lose you on the system, give you incorrect information and are generally unaware what their left hand is doing if they are using the right one - unfortunately an experience that 80% of my tour had. Fortunately the local operators are supremely competent.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
yes I think it did benefit some local people.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
The local team were 10*+++++. The only reason Ive given a 4 is because of the nonsense endured with the company's admin.Read the operator's response here:
Hi Lynne, Thank you for you feedback regarding the sales team. Unfortunately, the sales team member that you originally dealt with Georgia went on vacation a day after you first spoke. Her out of office email was on to say to contact the sales inbox in her absence. When Georgia was in the office she did respond to you the same day or at least the next day. We have spoken to the other members of the sales team that you spoke with in her absence to ensure this won’t happen again. We look forward to having you on one of our vacations again soon

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Being on a tour for the first time in 10 years! Also the spring flowers throughout Montenegro (I travelled end May/early June) were an enchanting backdrop to the tour. The trip up to the monastery - so many very tight hairpin bends on a narrow road, very sweaty palms throughout! Sarajevo!2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
This is a relatively relaxed trip in a fascinating part of the world. Lots of city tours so a combo of city gear (ie not too scruffy, I failed :-)) and walking shoes very useful. Get your lonely planet guide well in advance as local bookshops and libraries don't stock for this area. Local guides in the cities are varied and one in particular talked so long a church I wanted to visit closed while she talked, most frustrating. Our own tour guide was lovely, but at 19 didn't bring a mature adult view of the world although he was mature beyond his years and very efficient at getting us from a-b. Bring Euros for most of the trip and convert to Bosnian marks in bosnia (if you have spare dollars or GBP those are also readily converted into BM)3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, we ate at local village houses and restaurants which directly benefited locals. We used local guides for city tours. We were advised to bring re-useable bottles and the water in Bosnia from the tap is drinkable but in Kotor we were advised to purchase bottled water due to the way water was stored. We travelled in a petrol minibus and flew so therefore were polluting the atmosphere generally.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Very enjoyable.Janet Bird review 25 Jul 2019

Be prepared for some lengthy coach journeys and border crossings.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
I do feel it benefitted the local economy e.g the meals with local families.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
The only real disappointment was Dubrovnik where we had very little time to do much at all except go for a group dinner in the old town. The hotel Komodor was also very tired and not worthy of 3 stars.Ilana Susser review 2 Jun 2018
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
The tour of Sarajevo2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Take into account there is quite a lot of fairly steep walking involved3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Definitely4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
The vacation was exciting and the scenery in both countries is breathtaking. I have only two negative comments: (1) The operator advertises the tour is for 2 to 16 people and there were 18; (2) the hotel in Mostar was changed from the Almira (4 star) to the Kapetanovina (3 star), which is not a problem but the operator does state that should the hotel differ from the original one on the list, it would be of the same standard.Carol Tremaine review 4 Sep 2017
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
The stunning scenery and trips to isolated villages.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Be aware that two of the walks described as gentle are in fact quite strenuous, but of course they are optional. If you are nervous being driven on narrow mountain roads with sheer drops this tour may not be for you, but I always felt perfectly safe. if you do not like very hot weather choose to go in the spring or autumn. Good trip for solo travelers.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Excellent. I enjoyed every minute. Terrific leader and very nice companions.Holiday Reviews
