1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Difficult to choose. There was so much. Waking up on the first morning and seeing a volcano outside the window. Rio Dulce area and the journey down the gorge to the Carribbean. The journey down the river to Las Guayacamas surrounded by thousands of yellow butterflies. Watching Dawn break at Tikal.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Relax and enjoy the experience. The guides are fantastic and full of local knowledge. Just immerse yourself in Guatemala. It is such a beautiful country.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Certainly. Local guides took us to local community projects and markets. Hotels were small places not large chains.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Brilliant. Loved every minute of it and would love to return.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The volcano hike from Antigua to view Fuego erupting. Altitude and cold notwithstanding, something we will never forget! And being allowed to view a Mayan ceremony that we would never have found at Lake Atitlan.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

We built a bespoke itinerary, and unusually for us included a guide for many of the side trips. This gave us a great insight into local culture and was invaluable, and we saw much more than we would have done otherwise. But there is much to see so some forward planning is helpful to make the most of your time.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes. We visited local artisans, coffee co-operatives, and a local Mayan community in Tikal. Some of the activities were 100% eco-tourism that directly supported efforts to preserve forests etc

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Probably one of the most memorable vacations we have done.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Yaxha National Park, but all parts were memorable

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Spend two nights at Flores. Do not attempt early morning flight up to Tikal, everybody who did this was wrecked.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

For sure. Apart from the obvious local tourist workers including hotel staff, there are the national park employees, textile ladies, ferry boat personnel etc Tikal and Yaxha doing well on the environmental side. Hope Lake Atitlán is well protected with adjacent population and activities.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Excellent. Pace was just right, all worked very well. Saw and did lots. Tour guides and support very good.
