1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
I think all the activities were exciting and memorable but the most memorable must be staying at the Prince Hunter Hotel in Turda. It was a quirky hotel that certainly put us in a “Dracula” mood. We had a lovely week discovering Transylvania and skiing in the Carpathean mountains. I was pleasantly surprised about how beautiful Romania is. We really enjoyed the salt mines in Turda as we had never visited a place like it and “travelled” more than a hundred meters underground. Sighisoara was also a favourite place as well as Bran castle and Snagov. We loved to party with the Locals for New Year’s Eve and New Years Day. It was a lot of fun!2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Be prepared for very cold weather! Also there is a little bit of traveling involved so transfers can be quite long, although totally worth it.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, our tour definitely resorted to local people and resources.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
We loved the way they handled the whole Dracula experience. We wanted to experience the full history of the real, larger-than-life, person on which Bram Stoker based his fictional antagonist as well as enjoy the Halloween ambiance. Our guide, Stefan, went further explaining other possible legends that may contribute and expand on the vampire myth such as the deadly Stragoi.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Keep in mind that if you are used to a 5-star lodging experience, with exceptions, you will not find it here. While there are perfectly acceptable accommodations along the way, there are also those that were less than desirable... Holes in well -used towels, mold in the showers... etc. So be prepared and a bit more accepting. My wife and I are road warriors and it does not bother us as much as others.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Regarding conservation initiatives, the hotels emphasized reuse of towels to conserve water. We purchased mostly locally-made items.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
This was a well thought out vacation experience. With the few exceptions noted, I would recommend it to our friends and family.Read the operator's response here:

Holes in well-used towels, mold in the showers is something that you should not experience during your vacation here. We will send a notification to the hotels involved. Hard to choose! Romania has beautiful scenery, a very interesting history and some of the friendliest people I've ever come across. As a history fan, climbing the 1480 stairs to Poenari Castle (Vlad the Impaler's actual castle) was the highlight.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

We visited beautiful churches and palaces. the scenery was spectacular and the locals were wonderful, friendly and honest.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Be prepared for the fact that Romania is not as developed as other locations in Western and Southern Europe. I sum it up as a small and not-wealth country that is trying really hard.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Exploring medieval citadels, tracing the old city walls, and climbing all the watch towers one comes across are some of the most enjoyable moments of this vacation.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
