1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
It was ALL wonderful. We really could not pick out just one part!! War breaking out whilst we were in Jerusalem was quite something though!!!2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Just enjoy every moment3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, as we were taken to shop at various community benefited shops. The wildlife reserve was run to help the endangered Persian Oryx.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

If you’re using a driver ensure your itinerary is as detailed as possible & don’t leave anything to chance.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We had guides in Jerash, Dana, Petra & Wadi Rum -all locals. The Wadi Rum camp was 100% sustainable - no plastic, solar panels for energy etc. It was disappointing to see rubbish in parts of Wadi Rum.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
3 things - spending Christmas night at Sun City Camp in a wonderful Martian Dome, our trip to Petra, which was an incredible experience :-), and coating ourselves in Dead Sea Mud at the Kempinski Dead Sea Hotel :-).Also, the Jordanian people were all very friendly and welcoming :-) - they seem to like Brits.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Be prepared for all weathers - we experienced -1 to +24 degrees as we travelled round. The visa service provided was excellent - being met on arrival and helped through immigration went very smoothly.Don't wear your best swimmies when you go into the Dead Sea or use the Dead Sea mud - it was a wonderful experience but we can't get the stains out. The tour company was very pleasant and wanting to be helpful, but we did have to follow up on several aspects of the trip to ensure things were as expected/required.If you go to Kempinski Dead Sea hotel and you want to take alcohol in make sure it's in your luggage rather than your hand luggage or it will be confiscated as you go through security on arrival, and returned when you leave. The same goes for binoculars - put them in your luggage, but it's better to have in your hand luggage for when you go through security at the airport at departure as they will want to inspect them!3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Not really. Yes, the local people have employment in the hotels and we used local guides so that's good, but the hotels were all big chain hotels and there was almost no sign of any effort to recycle anything anywhere. And the use of plastic in Jordan seems to be a major problem, with disposable plastic being used at some hotels too when it wasn't necessary and particularly in local restaurants in Amman where everything was plastic that was disposed of afterwards. The only place we saw recycling bins was at the airport when we were leaving.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Feedback is very helpful so thank you for taking the time to comment on your trip. We are finding smaller hotels that source local produce but it’s difficult to control sustainable practices with large 4 & 5 star hotels –however, change is happening, slowly.
The Marriott hotel chain do help local communities and use solar panels. The Jordan government has started The Jordanian recycling initiative , turning plastic waste into fuel. They are working to depollute agricultural land and revive local industries in rural Jordan thanks to pyrolysis, a process that turns plastic into fuel.
We avoid local restaurants that use single use plastic and our ground agents have a project to provide more recycling bins.
