Adventure is top of the list in what is available! No more could have been seen and done in 20 days!Sasha Lim review 31 Aug 2017
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
I loved this tour - it was amazing! Being able to travel Alaska in a converted school bus, with amazing guides and a fantastic group of like minded people, made for an incredible trip. We got to see some beautiful places and animals, ate really well and generally just had the best time.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Book the longest tour you can fit into your schedule! I booked the 9 day tour of the Kenai pennisula but loved it so much I ended up returning to Alaska (after leaving to travel Canada) to rejoin the next leg of the tour because I missed it and my group so much!3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, definitely.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
It was absolutely amazing - you won't regret booking this trip. I highly recommend this company. Wish I could do it again!Julie Woods review 18 Sep 2016
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
I did the 20 day Alaskan Adventure and a part of the Canada Gold Rush Adventure tours. Not only was the weather absolutely awesome they took us to locations that I would never had known if I was doing this trip on my own (i.e. Maclaren Lodge, Adventure Camp). We were able to enjoy many pre arranged activities (i.e., hikes and boat cruises) but they also gave us free time so we could do optional activities or just to have a quiet day (enjoying beautiful vistas). Not only did we see many animals but were able to see the Northern Lights on many occasions. Hiking Exit Glacier was exhausting but well workers it when you get to the top!!!2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Be open to sharing your vacation with people from different parts of the world who may not share the same language. You quickly realize that words are just a small part of how we communicate with others. Be open to new experiences...this was my first experience with pit toilets and although there was a bit of a shock with some of the toilet facilities on this tour it added to the absolutely awesome experiences! Lastly, be sure to bring a warm sleeping bag as the nights can get pretty chilly!3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
I really liked that the vacation provider chose locations that were sometimes off the traditional Alaskan tourist destinations. The Adventure Camp was one of my favourite parts of the tour (and not only because we saw 4 whales while sea kayaking!). The owners of the camp were amazing hosts and provided a beautiful location to enjoy a bit of what Alaskan life is really like.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Since this was my first trip on my own I felt very comfortable with the vacation providers as the owners were the people directly running the trip. They were always available to answer questions both before and during the trip. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone looking for an exciting overland tour of Alaska (and Canada too!).John Cracknell review 7 Sep 2015
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
From start to finish, Alaska, and Dave and Natalie who managed the vacation, delivered. There wasn't a day which isn't memorable for a variety of reasons! The excitement of camping in a variety of locations was always exciting - the journey to each site equally so. I suppose most people would choose Alaska for the scenery and the wildlife, and we were never disappointed in any respect. The people who made it though, were Dave and Natalie because they were so organised, thoughtful, considerate and hard-working.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
1) Take the best camera you can afford! 2) Plan to take warm clothes...and then put some more in your rucksack! 3) Take hand cream (and that includes men). Never had such dry cracked hands before! 4) Take everything as it comes and be prepared to change your plans if necessary. 5) Take pleasure in the little things - a bird or squirrel trying to steal your food.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, definitely. Dave and Natalie pay a carbon offset (which is good) and where possible (and this usually is) use trusted local suppliers for sites and activities.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
This is the best vacation my partner and I have ever been lucky enough to have. We thoroughly enjoyed it and it exceeded our dreams. If anyone is thinking of seeing Alaska and considering camping, this would be the tour to choose. But let's not forget Dave and Natalie's converted school bus 'Atka'. This is a great way to travel. Comfortable, roomy and reliable. And Atka looks great in photos too!David Conway review 13 Sep 2015
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Difficult to pick one part as the whole trip was memorable. Alaska is such a scenic destination. Camping brings you closer to nature and the wild camping was in isolated, awe inspiring places. I particularly enjoyed the sea kayaking, around beautiful islands with sea otters everywhere. Natalie and Dave worked tirelessly to make it an exceptional experience. The bus was comfortable and spacious and as it is high up there were always good views. Food was always excellent, plentiful and varied.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Take a camera with a good zoom lens and plenty of storage for all the images. Be prepared to do as many of the optional activities as possible, as you will have experience that you can do in few other destinations and there is no point saying you wished you had done them when you are back home.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
While food, not surprisingly, came mainly from chain supermarkets, local shops, businesses and guides also benefited. Where possible recycling was carried out. The vacation providers website lists all the way the company tries to reduce environmental impact.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
This was a wonderful vacation that I would thoroughly recommend. Alaska is an exceptional destination and the vacation provider an exceptional company.Bettina Bernhardt review 7 Sep 2014
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
It's difficult to pinpoint just one moment, as the whole stay in Alaska was wonderful from start to finish. Seeing all the wildlife, in Denali National Park (bears, caribous, wolves...),when on a boat in the Kenai fjords (orcas, sea lions, humpback whales...), but also just when traveling casually on a road, was fantastic: they're just part of everyday life in Alaska. Having the feeling that you are not in an overcrowded vacation spot was also a big "plus" to me, you are often in very quiet and peaceful places, and sometimes really have the impression that you can disconnect from the busy world you might be used to. I for example loved the part when we got to kayak on very beautiful Sunday morning, on very calm water, and the aim was not to reach a certain point or to be as fast as possible, but just to enjoy the wonderful scenery of this bay, kayak along the rocks and look at the sea stars and jelly fish, while encoutering sea otters swimming nearby and even spotting a whale at a relative distance. The impression of peacefulness was stunning, and the landscape, well, I envy people who can see in on a daily basis. I would also have to list all the other exciting activities we got to do (ice climbing, flight above the glaciers, canoeing, kayaking among icebergs...), but would certainly need to mention that this amazing vacation was possible thanks to the wonderful organization of our guides Natalie and Dave: everything seemed so easy, and that was thanks to their careful planning. They were very helpful ahead of the trip in answering all the questions I had. During the trip, they of course know a lot about the region, are very relaxed, spontaneous and generous, and you can completely rely on them. It is obvious that they are passionate about what they do.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
I would just say don't hesitate! This is a company that is 200% reliable and the trip is so fun to do! Even is you're not an experienced camper, it doesn't matter, the guides will show you how it works! Just make sure you bring enough layers and a sleeping bag that is warm enough if you get cold quite easily. While it's 100% not a problem to camp in summer in Alaska, you need to be prepared as well as possible, as it can get chilly at night.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, the guides have a lot of contact with small local businesses with which they organize activities. They know them well, and carefully choose those which fit the best. The company is very aware of being ecologically responsible, and their website highlights the different ways in which they are active in order to preserve the environment and leaving the least impact possible.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
It was an exceptional vacation, on all levels. I would not hesitate to recommend this trip. It's a small local company (which for me was also a decisive argument), they really know their stuff, everything works out perfectly. What you get to see is really unique and unforgettable. You'll bring back wondeful pictures and mostly, great memories and funny stories to tell back home!Holiday Reviews
