1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The Perito Moreno glacier was breathtaking.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

A taxi to the Sugarloaf cable car in Rio was only 18 real (less than £5 between two of us) each way. We use public transport where possible but this journey was too complicated. If you're over 60 you can book the cable car online for half price but need to show ID (a photocopy of passport was fine). Shorter queues at airports in Brazil for over 60s too.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Only that local guides and drivers were used. Punctual and charming in both countries (Argentina and Brazil).

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Really good. Especially the excellent transfers. Just one hotel disappointing , La Cantera at Iguazu. Room smelled musty - perhaps understandable in a rainforest - but attempts to mask the smell with a strong, sickly false vanilla product had made it worse. We were given a room with one bed; told to wait while housekeeping 'split' it into the 2 requested, but there was only one base. Blank look at reception! But enterprising young maid found us a twin bedded room. Breakfast was good but we were both 'dodgy', though not feeling actually ill, for the next two days, having eaten for the first time exactly the same meal (pork and vegetables).

The marble cave's and the movement the glacier. And the remoteness of some of the destinations.

5 stars, we thought the operator was great. Hands off to Rosie and Dan.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

We loved the day trip to Chiloe, the Cruce Andino trip, seeing Iguazu Falls, and the Perito Moreno glacier. We also booked a few extra excursions ourselves which were amazing.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Don't end up in Pueto Varas over new year because everything (restaurants, bars, tour operators) all close so you will have nothing at all to do!

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

It benefitted local people that work in the tourism industry - particularly as some of the places we went seem almost exclusively geared around tourism (eg. Calafate). However I don't think it reduced any environmental impacts or supported conservation particularly.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

It was fantastic, a great part of the world to explore and would highly recommend our itinerary for anyone who wants to maximise things to see/do in a condensed period of time.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The Iguazu Falls and the Perito Moreno Glaciers were spectacular sceneries I never knew about before starting discussing the tour. I recommend everyone to go and visit these sites, including for the Iguazu Falls, the Argentinian side more than the Brazilian side.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

I believe it is important to book early to secure the best hotels (or best hotel rooms). One should also see which is his/her level of fitness and consider hiking or boat rides instead for instance.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

The tourist industry is important for the local economies, including in terms of employment for local people, but we did not really engage in buying stuffs. Some hotels appear to have a environment conscious programme, but I also found some place overheated which does not gel too much with energy conservation or efficiency.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Wonderful vacations! I wish I had though of visiting Latin America before (rather than exploring many parts of Asia).

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

So many! The most spectacular was the Perito Moreno Glacier which was jaw dropping! The journey as you cross the Andes mostly by boat is amazing with crystal clear lakes, high mountains and volcano`s and the Condor circling high above you.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Expect to be staggered by the scenery and expect some long distances between places especially to Torres del Paine National Park which took hours to drive to plus long hold ups between Argentina and Chile but it was so worth it! Be aware that some ATM`s do not work so also take Dollars which can be exchanged at most places.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes the hotels were all small none chain hotels and the use of all local south american travel companies.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Superb! The scenery and people were fantastic and travel support spot on.
