1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The scenery. So much to do and see. ( hiking, glaciers and waterfalls, horseback riding on a black beach, snorkeling, soaking in lagoons, diamond beach, whale watching, northern lights, etc)

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

We were self driving so GPS is a must. Worked out perfect even in the remote places we stayed

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Hope so. Everyone we met were so kind and pleasant. Hope we were too.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Outstanding. My wife and I have traveled all over Europe and Iceland is as beautiful a country as we have seen. Our thanks to David at the tour operator who responded to our one question immediately. ( a light came on in the car and we were not familiar with it. It turned out to be no problem.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Snorkelling at Silfra and snow mobiling on Langjokull

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Book your own accomodation; AirBnb/VRBO would have given more suitable and often cheaper options; too often our self catering accomodation was booked as if we had small children traveling rather than adult sized teenagers. It also followed some odd geographies causing us to drive an extra 100km in the middle of the vacation simply to access accomodation and then doubling back the next day (whilst on the N1 so not the most isolated part of the country)

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Financially yes; we spent a lot of money on local services and products. Not sure about the environmental impacts; taking tour buses into isolated national parks is clearly better than individual vehicles but driving petrol engines on glaciers whilst an amazing experience is less justifiable. I would imagine the fees for entry to national parks etc do support conservation (and the quality of parks and their protection is way higher than anywhere else I have experienced)

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Very enjoyable; we would go again; the few things that went wrong (hotel overbooked, turning up late for one activity) were all rectified quickly.

Hi Chris, Thanks so much for sending over your feedback! It's great to hear that you had such an enjoyable time, in particular the snorkelling at Silfra and snowmobiling on Langjokull. It's so lovely to hear that that you'd even like to go back again! I completely understand your remarks about the accommodation and whilst AirBnb does offer lots of accommodation options, it's not a platform that we can use to book places for our customers. However, we will be more clear to future customers about the geographies of those places we do book. You are quite right. The national park fees do support the conservation of those areas and we also work with a local partner to help run projects that also aim to make a positive impact to the local people, as well as reduce environmental impacts and support conservation. It's so great that you enjoyed yourselves so much and I do hope we can put together another fantastic vacation for you to one of our other destinations in the future. If there is anything further you'd like to discuss at all, please do feel free to get in touch. Warm regards, Miles
