Travel guides
History vacations suffer from an image problem. They conjure up a picture of a sedate older crowd crammed into coaches, ticking off a list of antiquity...
Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
We advise local people on the positive impact of preserving their environment. We do this through supporting communal labour with soft drinks and water in the communities we visit. We help locals to understand the relevance of their natural world as it is one of the the major factors that attracts tourists to their communities. We also educate travelers on the culture and history of the communities we visit, which builds respect and understanding, as to be able to relate well with the locals and not do anything that will impact negatively on the environment. Guests will eat locally produced food and stay in locally owned and run accommodation, limiting their impact on the environment. We do cycling or walking to sites that we can commute using these means to reduce C02 emissions. Regarding waste management, we collect all bottles that we use during our tours and donate them to local farms to use during the nursing of seedlings and to store liquid. We also visit most historical and heritage sites so that the communities get to benefit from them so they do not lose their relevance in history and by doing this, they preserve the surrounding of these sites. Again, we try to minimize the use of vehicles at the attraction sites so as to reduce the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere.People
One of our policies is to positively impact the communities we operate in. We support the local communities and employ local guides for this tour and make use of local establishments such as hotels, shops and restaurants, eating local foods so that the communities benefit directly from tourism. As a result of employing local people and their businesses, the locals have a good relationship with the tourists since they both benefit immensely from each other. We encourage our customers to purchase cultural souvenirs and send them home and all this is geared towards appreciating the culture of the communities they visit and also serve as a way of promoting the cultures in their home countries. And finally, we make donations to schools and other facilities in the local communities we operate. This we do by putting aside part of our profits to undertake these donation activities. We mostly donate items including; educational materials, waste bins, clothing and first aid kits.Popular similar vacations
