Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Planet

As a company we do not encourage nor promote any activity that may cause harm or that is contradictory to the welfare and conservation of wildlife in their natural habitats or the wider ecosystem they inhabit.

Throughout the tour, we seek to minimise our impact on the environment. We encourage the reduction of waste in all forms, reusing of resources whenever possible and recycle at every opportunity. We encourage the use of shared transportation on our tour in order to reduce our carbon foot print.
In addition we encourage travelers to put their waste materials in provided waste bins on the bus where they will be collected and dispose of in appropriate manner.
At Ada Foah (a mini animal sanctuary beach resort where you will likely see some of the most interesting animals that grace the resort including – horses, crocodiles and donkeys. We encourage our participants to leave the resort in its natural state by not polluting the river with garbage. Entrance and lodge fees paid are used to sustain the conservation work within the resort as well as provide fair trade employment.

People

In this tour, we encourage our visitors to buy locally produced goods and support local artisans. In this way, visitors are able to help sustain the local community, contribute towards conservation and enrich their own lives. During each safari there will be opportunities to purchase goods from local artists, market stalls and restaurants in keeping with the ideals of fair trade.
On this tour, we visit Jamestown Fishing Community-One of Accra’s most historic neighborhoods where history resides on every corner. Our participants mingle and interact with the crowd as all bargain to buy some fish.
In our interactions we educate them on the best methods of fishing such as using the correct nets so as not to deplete the stock of fishes in the sea. We recognize that we have a special responsibility to ensure that the encounters that we have are carried out in a responsible manner.
Buying of fishes from the mongers help to raise the living standards of the indigenes.
