Desert & dunes
There is something about traveling in the desert. The harsh beauty of landscapes shaped by the elements; the generosity of the people that live there...

In French, they use the word ‘insolite’ to describe an unusual vacation. Which sounds a bit like insolent. Rebelling against the norm.

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

CARBON REDUCTION

The desert is known for its sunny weather, making it the perfect location for harnessing solar energy. Installing solar panels in the camp provides a significant amount of energy to power the camp's lights, fans, and other electrical appliances.

We recognized the growing demand for vegetarian and vegan options amongst our guests. Our culinary team takes great pride in crafting delicious and diverse menus that cater to different dietary preferences. We aim to provide choices that are both sustainable and satisfying. By offering plan-based options, we not only minimize our environmental impact, but also provide our guests with the opportunity to make sustainable choices during their stay. We firmly believe that every small step towards a greener future counts, and we are delighted to be able to contribute to this cause.

ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE

Waste management is essential to maintain the ecosystem of the desert. Implementing a waste management system helps to reduce the amount of waste produced in the camp. Recycling bins have been placed in the camp to encourage guests to recycle their waste. Additionally, organic waste is composted to create nutrient-rich soil for plants in the camp.

Water is a scarce resource in the desert, and it's essential to conserve it. Guests are encouraged to take shorter showers, turn off the taps when brushing their teeth, and reuse their towels. Additionally, low-flow showerheads and faucets are installed to conserve water.

Planting native species of plants helps to maintain the natural ecosystem of the desert. These plants are adapted to the harsh desert climate and require less water and maintenance. Additionally, they provide shade and reduce the temperature in the camp.

We have implemented these sustainable initiatives in our desert camps in Dubai to make an effort to reduce the impact on the environment and promote sustainable tourism. These initiatives can also contribute to educating guests on the importance of conservation and encourage them to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.
