I loved the kayaking as a group. We kayaked 4 out of 5 of the activity days, visiting different coast lines each time. We swapped between double and single kayaks, picnicked on beaches and tried paddle boarding along the way. Seeing Vis from this beautiful angle was inspiring. Our hosts Craig and Xania were absolutely incredible. Every days itinerary was spectacular from sunup to sundown. I think the highlight wouldve been living outside my comfort zone and kayaking and biking and doing yoga on a cliff just really pushing my limits every day. CARBON REDUCTIONPrivate transport for guests on the Island is not recommended. Once you arrive to Vis Island, we will provide pick up and drop off to and from the ferry. On the days that guests are not eating at the house we will provide transport to and from local restaurants as a group, with local restaurants that are accessible by foot also highly recommended.
Our daily transport will predominantly involve a combination of kayaks, bikes and hikes. This is by for the best way to explore the many colours of Vis Island and it is far more suited to our goal of enjoying and preserving the beauty of Vis.
At our base, we are committed to small group adventures and have only vegan and locally sourced, seasonal ingredients whenever possible from our neighbours.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
WearActive we only served local wine and spirits produced on the island. We are actively involved in beach clean initiatives and we have a policy of no single use plastic and we recycle where possible. As we are kayaking with our guests we always encourage an awareness of our environment and at the start of the week to chat to our guests about the island resources, our solar, respect of our neighbours, community and the responsible use of water and air conditioning. We also have a close connection to an NGO group of marine biologists on the island who we invite to chat to our guests who are interested in the marine life of Vis and we also help them raise awareness with various initiatives.
People
LOCAL ECONOMYWe are an independent company that have turned our home and love of the island into a small group activity vacation. We only have four rooms and we are have strived to be involved within our small community.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
With close ties to the island, we make sure we use local guides and have partnerships with Vis Island businesses. Our neighbour hood taxi, boat trips, historical island guides are all from Vis Island and we work with them because they have similar values to our company, they are local and they are passionate about the island.
