We also minimise domestic flights to just Santiago to Patagonia, and Patagonia to the Atacama, across a full 17 days of travel through a country spanning over 4000km in length. This is designed to cause far fewer emissions than a more traditional 'highlights' package trying to link all the famous sights of Chile and Argentina in one flight-heavy carbon-emitting package. These flights cover distances that would otherwise take at least six days of driving.

And finally, our guides are trained in maintaining that all important balance between tourism and protecting the local environment. In essence to leave no footprint, and to leave with nothing but memories.

Our slow travel itinerary is designed so you can spend more time in each area, spreading the financial benefits of tourism wider and deeper into communities less visited than on a classic highlights or 'bucket list' package. You'll have a full week in the Atacama for example, double the time your average tour would allow (and there is enough to see to stay longer!)
