Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
This cycling vacation offers you the opportunity to connect and lay eyes on some of the most iconic big mammals of North America. You may see grizzly and black bears, elk, mountain goats, bighorn sheep, deers, etc.
At the beginning of your vacation, we will give an extended briefing on how to safely interact with the wildlife while out riding. Things such as not feeding them and keeping a safe distance will be the focal point of the briefing. Wildlife plays a massive role in the ecosystems we will be visiting, it is our duty to protect and limit our impact on these ecosystems. We have taken steps such as limiting to bare minimum single-use plastic throughout your vacation. We use reusable cutlery, plates, and cups for our lunches in the field. Lunches and snacks will be served in a family-style format. Meaning we will have a buffet spread of healthy and nourishing meals to fuel you during your ride. This eliminates the use of plastic bags to individually pack meals and snacks and gives us an opportunity to sit back and enjoy our food in a gorgeous setting.
This tour is fully supported by a 15 passenger bus and a trailer. Given the remoteness of the locations we visit, this unit allows us to ensure your comfort during your time with us.
In 2021, we updated our support trailer with a brand new all-aluminum body unit to reduce our gross weight by about 1300lbs. The weight drop allows us to save on our daily fuel consumption.
Although we have the support vehicle you will be spending minimal time in it, we want you to pedal, to immerse yourself in the beautiful high alpine environment from the saddle of your bike and not from behind a pane of glass.
People
We pride ourselves on being a small family business operating in a tight-knit mountain town of the Canadian Rockies. Our offering would not be possible without the help and support of our community and the communities we visit along the way.
Majority of the communities we visit rely heavily on tourism, recent events have highlighted how important it is to support each other.
We have selected accommodation and restaurants that are locally owned and/ or operated and taken time to ensure that their values align with ours.
The restaurants we dine with have made a concerted effort to use local produce, therefore ensuring a level of freshness and circulation of support to the wider community.
We are extremely proud to hire local mountain people as guides on this tour to best share and represent the culture and values of the region. Our guides are the centerpiece of our operation, without them, we couldn't offer you this amazing tour.
